David Thorburn – Teagames.com Apr 28, 2006

Teagames.com was founded by the British designer David Thorburn and has been established since 2003. Teagames.com is very well known website from the online gamers community.
You will find on David’s website all the games ha hase developed until now. Many of them involve driving a truck (Funky Truck) or a bike (BMX); graphics of almost all of them include pastel colors and a very ‘unique’ design.
Physics are great and games are usually released every month. Here is a selection of the most interesting and addictive ones…
Orangutwang
Orangutwang, the last game released until today has a quite different game play than the usual setup of most famous David Thorburn games. The object here is simply to swing a stretchy Orangutan from ring to ring and help him collecting babanas before the time runs out. Use your mouse and hold on the left button to select a member's end and drag it on a ring. Avoid Arachnids and wasps.
As usual with Teamgames, graphics and physics are perfect. On the downside, the 60 seconds delay to complete a level is probably a little bit to short for those who just want to relax during a break. Anyway, everyone should enjoy playing a few minutes with Orangutwang. Not the best game ever, but an original and very well designed one. Click.
Funky Truck Arizona
The latest version of the Funky Truck series. The game puts you as a driver of a Funky Truck that you can customize in the main menu. The object of the game is to drive as fast as you can through 9 different stages from beginning to end, keeping your truck clean and undamaged.
Use the practise option to get familiar with the truck (arrow keys to control the truck), and enjoy the amazing physics implementation. A really nice little and simple game, allowing you to attempt some triple back somersaults with a 4WD to get extra bonus points – Wow! Click.
Blueprint
Blueprint is puzzle/physics type game. The object of the game is to arrange the different objects on the play filed so that when the ball is released, it will end onto the target. Use the mouse to drag and drop the objects the way you like, then click the start button to launch the ball.
Difficulty increases as the levels progress, although the different levels may be completed in any order. Of course, the downside of the game is that once you have completed a level, there is no interest to redo that same level again. A great game for a 10 minutes break. Have a look here.
BMX Highlands
The latest version of the BMX series. The game puts you as a biker ; the object of the game is to ride the slopes and hills of the Highlands, exploring the 9 different levels of the game looking for keys (3 per level) and try to make successful stunts to get extra bonus points.
With really nice animation and physics, the game looks great and is easy to play; you can control your biker with the arrow keys: up for peddling forward; left to lean back; right to lean forward and down to brake. Use your space bar to turn around and Ctrl to recover from a crash. You will have probably to practice for a while before mastering this game, but it really worthes it! Click.
Hot Rocks Apr 25, 2006

I was looking for hot flash games with Google, and the first link I found at the top of the list was… Hot Flash Games (!), a website created by Shawn, where you can find his own creations.
The best one by far is a really nice Asteroids remake called Hot Rocks. Asteroids was first released by Atari in 1979 and became quickly one of the most popular arcade games. The object of the game is to shoot and destroy asteroids without being hit by them.
Use left and right arrows to rotate the ship and up arrow to thrust forward. Hold down arrow to activate your shied to prevent collision with asteroids. Press space bar to fire and destroy asteroids.
Shawn has introduced a new concept in the game : the space dock which allows you to power up your ship.
With nice graphics and a good soundtrack, Hot Rocks is a very fun game, reminding me the golden age of arcade games.
If you want to play with Hot Rocks, just click.
Note : you can also enjoy Hot Water, a Connexions and Plumber like game (read this post).
Mahjongg 3D Apr 24, 2006

Mahjong (or Mahjongg) is one of the most popular strategy games and a plausible theory suggests that Confucius, the great Chinese philosopher, could have developed the game around 500BC. If Majhong is originally a four players game, a solitaire matching game, Mahjong Solitaire, is available on computers since 1981.
The object with Mahjong Solitaire is to remove all 144 tiles from the play field. There are four of each tile, except for two special tile types, flowers and seasons. Both of these special types have four different tiles each that match with each other. To remove tiles, you must match up like tiles, and they both must be free to slide off the pile to the left or to the right.
You can easily find numerous Mahjong Solitaire versions today on the web : having said that, Mahjongg 3D, developed by Mike Dogan and Mauricio Winges, is definitely one of the best ever released for free.
With 25 different layouts, six sets of tiles and a complete editor to build your own layouts, Mahjongg 3D has almost everything !
Graphics are great and Mahjongg 3D uses dynamic outputs which automatically adjust to the size of the game’s window.
Mahjongg 3D includes a smart speed bonus points system, much more appropriate than the usual countdown provided with matching games, usually leading to some frustration feelings once time is over. The 3D view option is also useful with layouts including hugh piles of tiles and the hint button always helpful when players get stuck…
On the downside, even if music and sounds are nice, they just distract the player. Unfortunately, the music button in the game just turns off the music, so you’ll need to turn off the sound with the computer’s volume control if you just want to relax.
Mahjongg 3D is definitely the kind of flash games we would like to see more often on the web : click !
Thanks to Stebu.

Roboclaw, developed by Mobasher Iqbal, is one of the really good dexterity games available right now on the Web. Your goal is to use a small robot arm to grab the blue orb and move it onto the goal, without hitting any obstacles.
Control the robot arm by using the arrow keys. Right and left arrows to rotate main "shoulder", down and up arrows to rotate "elbow", clockwise and counter-clockwise, respectively.
Take your time to get used to the robot arm movements : it takes time before you get comfortable with. As pointed in the game instructions, your arm can go through any obstacles, and it is usually helpful !
Difficulty increases through the different 30 levels with moving walls, and later moving arm.
The remaining time after you end a level determines your score.
Roboclaw includes level passwords, so you don’t have to solve any level more than once if you want to end the game.
Roboclaw is as easy to understand as it’s arm sometimes tricky to use. If you want to test your patience and your dexterity during your next break, just click.

The world of Samorost – Samorost and Samorost 2 Apr 20, 2006
Posted by gflash in Adventure, Games, Online, Point-n-click.3 comments
Samorost and Samorost 2 are two of the best well-designed point-and-click adventure games that I have found so far on the Web. Developed by Amanita Design, they are both set in the same incredible world, where a little guy lives on a small planetoid in space.
In the first sequel, released in 2003, he has to save his home from an incoming bird-like asteroid. In Samorost 2, released in late 2005, aliens land on the same little guy’s planetoid, and kidnap his dog. Let go for the chase !
If the graphics of the first episod are awesome, the downside is that you can’t, as most of this type of game, save where you left off and pick up later. But the game is short and easy to solve, so it is not really a major weakness.
Samorost 2 is just as much as fun as Samorost. Same amazingly professional graphics, and it comes with level codes, solving the problem mentioned above.
In fact, the second opus comes in two chapters, and you can only play the first for free. You can download the full version for $6.90.
As the little guy can’t die and the puzzles are pretty simple, the games look to have been designed for moderately experienced adventurers.
So feel free to click almost everywhere, and eventually, after an hour or two, you’ll get everything done.
Do you want to enjoy Samorost’s world now ? It’s here.
Do you want more ? Then play Samorost 2.
flOw Apr 19, 2006

flOw is an addictive flash game produced by Jenova Chen, a student from USC Interactive Media Division in California. The concept of the game is simple : eat, grow and evolve !
In this game, you’re playing a small worm diving in a deep blue space. Move your worm with your mouse, and accelerate by using left click.
Your worm has to eat creatures to evolve and grow up : eat the red ones to go deeper, and the blue ones to go shallower. The deeper your worm is, the darker the space is.
In order to grow, you can eat any smaller creature. If you want to eat multicellular organisms, try to break them up first into smaller pieces, by eating all their major cells.
Small creatures with a <+> sign make you grow longer. You get these creatures when you dislocate multicellular organisms.
If an organism turns to orange, it means it is attacking you. If creatures turn dark blue, they are more vulnerable.
Your journey will end once you’ll have eaten the giant orange jellyfish, living somewhere in the deepest level.
Even if the goal of the game is not really easy to catch at the beginning, flOw is an incredible flash game, with amazing graphics and animations. Surrounded by a superb new-age soundtrack, Jenova plunges us into a really relaxing atmosphere while the main goal of the game is just nothing but survive in a crual world !
With a free download version available for PC & Mac, there is nothing to add but wow !
Enjoy flOw here.
Special thanks to xcreations for their screen shot.
Rebonds Apr 18, 2006

Rebonds is a simple on-line balls game. It comes with a pool table, including five green balls and a white one. Your goal is to made as many collisions as possible with the balls.
All you have to do first is to find the best angle to shot your white ball using the mouse (thanks to the green arrow), and start watching the 'ballet' !
With such a simple game-play, you could easily imagine getting bored just after a couple of attempts : but JP, Rebonds french developer, was smart enough to add these damned high scores scrolling at the bottom of the screen. And it's such a good idea, because it helps you staying in, trying to find the trick leading to the Hall of Fame !
With nice graphics and well-done physics, Rebonds is fun and you’ll probably come back later. Click !
Connexions Apr 17, 2006

Connexions is a nice real-time puzzle game, something between the famous Tetris and Plumber from Terrypaton. The goal is pretty easy to understand : click on the pipe segments to rotate them clockwise and try to create a continuous pipeline. The longer the pipeline is, the more points you’ll be rewarded. Once completed, the pipeline disappears and new segments fall down from the top of the screen to replace the previous ones.
Thorsten Diessner, Connexions designer, has made a really good job here. Graphics are nice and the race against the clock definitely makes the game tense at times.
On the downside, the game comes without any real soundtrack, just the same little boring sound when your click a pipe segment. I recommend you use the option to turn the sound off, and find instead a sweet melody on your favorite web-radio.
I would also have appreciated to be able to pause the game (with a hidden screen, of course), in order to relax at high levels.
Connexions would probably have been even more tricky with pipes crossing over just like in Plumber 2, but may be then less addictive than it is.
Anyway, easy to learn, easy to play, it is a fun and simple game. If you want to play for two minutes or two hours, just click.
Cyrano Apr 15, 2006

Cyrano sounds like a strange name for an Othello Reversi online game ; it was developed by Bruno Causse, a french developer who seems to have spent a lot of time to build this little but really powerful game, available on his website.
Othello is a well known 2 players 8 by 8 squares board game using 64 discs. Each disc is white on one side and black on the other. Each player chooses one color, and the goal is to have a majority of the pieces showing your color by the end of the game.
Both players take turns placing a single piece of his or her color on the board. Once a piece is played, it never moves, but it can be flipped. Specifically, each time you place a piece, you also flip some of your opponent's pieces — those that are horizontally, vertically, or diagonally between the piece you just put down and another piece of your own color. You are required to flip at least one of your opponent's pieces each time you make a move, otherwise you have to pass your turn. The game ends when neither player can make a legal move.
Cyrano offers different levels of difficulty, from beginner to master. It also allow you to play in Blitz mode, with 3 choices : 1, 3 and 5 minutes. Note that you'll be able to finish the game even if your remaining time goes below 0.
Beware, Cyrano is strong, very strong, and even at the beginner level, you’ll need some practice if not days before being able to win !
With a clean interface and the legal moves option activated, Cyrano is a serious opponent for Othello games and a perfect choice in the jungle of Othello online games. Just have a look here.
The Fancy Pants Adventure Apr 14, 2006

I found this game yesterday on myflashresource. Created by Brad Borne, The Fancy Pants Adventure is a platform adventure game where you play a really well animated character who wear, guess what… a very fancy pair of pants ! Inspired from the famous Sonic the Hedgehog, this games includes very well-done physics, vast and open world, a lot of hidden areas you’ll be able to find if you take the time to look and go everywhere.
An advice : try to catch as much swirls as you can. They refill your health and give you an extra life every 100.
Avoiding enemies, projectiles, jumping on platforms, running and using half-pipes or hills to fly and fall smoothly in many directions, wow the gameplay is so intense.
Designed for Armor Games, with spectacular animations and a really good soundtrack composed by Geier Arnold, this game definitely worth it. Have a look here and enjoy !
Please, Brad, give us soon a second opus !
